Space Shuttle Discovery - NASA Florida provides several options for transportation through and to the Sunshine State. There are four Interstate highways extending into the state, which are I-95, beginning near Jacksonville, along the east coast; I-4 from Cape Canaveral connecting Orlando, Tampa, and Daytona Beach; I-75 from the central states, and I-10 from the western panhandle of the state. Many highway systems exist in the Sunshine State; among these is the Florida Turnpike, constructed in 1957 and stretching its 455 miles (732 kilometers) of toll roads through southern, central, and west central Florida.

Aviation is well served in the Sunshine State. There are 20 public airports with commercial airline service. Major airports include the Miami International Airport, with roughly 31 million passengers annually, Orlando International Airport, serving over 30 million passengers per year, Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, accommodating roughly 20.8 million passengers per year, and Tampa International Airport accommodates over 19 million passengers per year. Additionally, there are 111 general aviation airports for corporate, recreational, and personal aircraft, 12 military airfields, and 700 privately owned airports.

Rail service to Florida is offered by Amtrak. Routes include the Sunset Limited, which runs from Los Angeles to Orlando; the Palmetto and Silver Service trains, which connect New York and Miami; and the Auto Train, providing transport for vehicles and passengers between the Washington D. C. and Orlando areas.

Several public transportation options exist in Florida. The South Florida Regional Transportation Authority includes Tri-County Commuter Rail Authority, or Tri-Rail, serving South Florida from Miami to West Palm Beach. The Jacksonville Transportation Authority offers bus service and a skyway monorail for Jacksonville. Miami-Dade Transit offers their Metrobus, Metromover, and Metrorail for commuters.

Greyhound Lines offers commercial bus service to the Sunshine State.
